Slit screen was used to create a symmetrical effect in our video. We did this by creating one of the panels of the split screen then mirroring it on the other side of the video. After creating this effect the center felt lack luster so we decided to cut lip sync on the beat of the music video in a rotating fashion to give the impression of an ellipses of time while the events of the side panels occur.
We used colour grading on these videos to give them a more vibrant dream like feel as the natural footage was bland and gray in comparison contrasting the theme and style of the rest of our music video

Editing - 7 second beats
Our music video needed more 'WOW' factor so we used the fast pace 7 half second beats to attempt to increase the tempo of our video. These were created using the small sections of high energy footage we were able to find in our larger videos. we opted to use footage without lip sync as these sections of the song don't have any lyrics to sing. There were a total of 5 times in which this effect was used and each one is more intense than the last.
Editing - Titles
To make our titles suit, the hyperactive style of our music video, we decided to use a sans serif script font, however we felt this wasn't enough so I decided to use key frames to animate the titles for added affect. these frames make text, swipe, pan, and wipe in order to appear reappear and move in interesting ways. I also used key framing to make the text bounce of itself in time with the music. i used a black background and white text to match the titles used throughout as white and black being contrasting colours matches the borders used for the split screen effect.

Editing - Screen Cropping
the difficulty came with he actual post production as when we recorded this footage the two videos had slightly different lighting so the two videos looked different to fix this we needed to key frame colour correction on one of the videos to match the other.Tuesday, 12 April 2016
Final Music Video
Here is our final music video for the song Gecko(Overdrive) by Oliver Heldens. We decided to include an intro to the music video as did Oliver Heldens to the original. After extensive research we found that many house music videos have a brief 20 second or less introduction without music to set the scene, as many house music videos are very narrative. Which is what we accomplished in our music video.
This is a first render so may be re rendered to create a higher quality product as some issues may have become evident in the render footage as this tends to be lower quality when uploaded to video sharing services.

Behind The Scenes Day 3
We shot the scene that is supposed the communicate the idea of a nightmare in our work. We accomplished this though the juxtaposition of the green and red, as complimentary course they each make the other stand out. We wanted to use make-up to help create our star image , we used abstract make-up to give an other worldly image to our performer, something out of her comfort zone that would give the impression she was something resembling an alien but not changing her image entirely. Anisa helped us with make-up by using a paler foundation/ face paint to give the impression of pale skin, this was blended with pink and blue eye shadows to contour her cheeks making her feature stand out more so that they could come out more prominent in post. They're close ups on her eyes and lips so we used a galactic colour scheme on the parts of her face that would be seen close up.
